Come and meet our coaches. 

All Highland Budokan Judo Club coaches are UKCC qualified, hold current PVG's and have been through First Aid and child protection training as part of their UKCC qualification. 

Head Coach

Robert Inglis 4th Dan

Level 3 Coach. Junior and senior examiner.

Former Junior and Senior Scottish and British Internationalist. Commonwealth competitor and former Scottish Sports Council Coach of the year.  Founder of Highland Budokan Judo Club with over 30 years of coaching experience. 

Robert has a highly skilled and qualified coaching staff to which he relies on for the help and support to drive the club forward     

  Class Coaches

Ramsay Darling 4th Dan

Level 3 Coach

Former Scottish and British medallist at junior and senior level.  Ramsay started judo aged 5. He attended Whitburn Judo Club under the instruction of Ramsay Thompson one of Scotlands highly accomplished and recognised coaches.  Ramsay is a valued member of Highland Budokan's coaching staff and is committed to passing on his vast knowledge to the club players.

Steven Liddle 1st Kyu    

Level 1 Coach  

Steve made his return to judo where he took up coaching. He has gained his Level 1 Coaching Award. Both his daughters are heavily involved in the sport of Judo and both are on Scottish National Squad.  He is very enthusiastic in helping the club players enjoy their sport.  He is also training towards gaining his 1st Dan black belt. He is an invaluable member of our coaching staff. Steve is also a keen cyclist.
